HOW WE DID:
All this began like an improvised outdoors shooting at night. The only concept I had in mind was the film ‘In the mood for love’ from the Hong Kong director Won Kar Wai. We were walking around the streets of the Shekou neighbourhood in Shenzhen looking for good spots. As we were walking around we found a street taylor at work with his sewing machine. He had a wonderful traditional silk Qipao dress for sale. He didnt accept to rent us for the shooting so we finally bought on purpose for the photos. It turned out to be a good decision to have this beautiful dress on scene.
We did several takes in 3 spots: Front door of a tea house, a feet massage parlor and outside a condo with the mailboxes.
